Muhurat that accounts for your chart, not just the calendar
A panchang gives general dates. A muhurat gives dates that work for the people involved, in the place the event happens.
Why a general date is not enough
Panchang muhurats are calculated for a latitude and a set of assumptions. Two families in different cities, or with charts that conflict with the date, need the calculation adjusted. Copying a date off a website is how people end up with a muhurat that does not fit either chart.
What we need
- Birth details for everyone the event centres on.
- The city and, ideally, the venue.
- The range of dates you can realistically work with.
- The type of event, since wedding and griha pravesh rules differ.
What you receive
Three or four candidate windows, ranked, with the tithi, nakshatra and any cautions noted. Enough to take to a venue and book, without needing a second consultation.
Turnaround
Muhurat needs calculation time, so book at least a week ahead. For weddings in peak season, two to three weeks is safer.
Questions people ask
Can you find a muhurat at short notice?
Sometimes, if the range is flexible. Rush requests are taken when an astrologer is free, but the calculation is not shortened to fit the deadline.
Do both families need a reading?
For a wedding, both charts should be checked. One chart alone can produce a date that suits one side and conflicts with the other.
